Good Points

Superb DVD and VCR reproduction.
Has a 'dial timer' that lets you set your VCR to record programmes faster than you can enter a Video Plus code.
Terrific looking machine.


Bad Points

You can't record onto the VCR from the DVD.


General Comments

The Sony SLVD950GS is a great looking DVD/VCR Combi that does not dissapoint.
Very easy to use and very good value for money.
Has the neatest screen saver i've ever seen and so many outstanding and very clever features.
You can watch a DVD and record on the VCR at the same time.
You can stop play back of the DVD and the machine remembers exactly where you left off.
It even sets it's own clock and TV channels.

    Hey. What do you mean you can use the VCR to record from a DVD?

    Can you record back and forth: VHS to DVD and DVD to VHS?

    Hi likehi11. If you look at the review again you will see that recording from the DVD to the VCR is not possible and it is the only bad point i can find on this machine. You can record from the DVD if you link it to a second machine. I am still using this DVD/VCR combi more than 12 months on and i still think it's really great. Sean
