Excellent observation, some wonderful set pieces like the seduction and the assault on the Place de l' toile.

I was given Michael Sadler, An Englishman in Paris: L'education Continentale by my wife, after I had been working in Paris for about a year, though travelling home every weekend. I devoured every page, smiling most of the time and laughing out loud often at Michael Sadler's witty observations of Parisian life. It made me long to find my own 'local' and to become part of it rather than just visit.
