General Comments

Maybe it is just bad luck on my part, however my experience with Philips DVD recorders is not good. I originally had one of the Philips DVDR880 recorders (one of the first to the market) it lasted 6 months before it stopped working and was sent back to Philips for repair. They lost it and after 2 months I was refunded. I then bought the DVD R75 and was delighted with the improved appearance, price and functionality of this machine. Sadly this too broke after 4 months and was repaired. The repair took a month. I had only had the machine back for three weeks when it broke again and so far I have been without it again for over 4 weeks. The fault is always with jumping recording - it plays pre-recorded dvd's fine but cannot be trusted to record. I am an extremely light user - maybe recording once per week absolute max, and yet I have had two Philips products that seem to spend all their time being repaired. I could not recommend based on my experience and I pray that the current machine gets lost during repair so that I can buy a reliable make.
