The vocals and lyrics combined with the progression of the drums and guitars, samples etc creates '46 & 2'. The songs could be listened to a thousand times over, yet the message behind the song takes time to reveal itself.
Songs like 'Stinkfist' and 'Aenima' are great, but they are negative lyrically and although Maynard is expressing himself which is fine, it shouldn't be mixed with more positive songs.
Tool's Aenima isn't as good as La Te Ra Lus, but it does nevertheless have some astonishing songs on, such as 46 & 2 and Eulogy.
46 & 2 is one of they're best songs ever.
This is essential if you already have La Te Ra Lus, but La Te Ra Lus is the best, most perfect album in the world. I own this album purely for the 2 songs I just mentioned, 46 & 2 and Eulogy.
