General Comments
I am an IT consultant with 20 years experience of working with software. I have never had a worse experience of software than that which I had with Sage Instant accounts. This package has clearly been cynically marketed as an SME tool but is unusable without an upgrade / and / or the use of presumably Sage supplied stationery.
To mention some of the worst parts of the system:
1. No information of use can either be transferred in or out in order to produce invoices. Printing the standard unmodifiable invoice would be unacceptable to give to a customer as it does not print the fields needed to give meaning to the data. Is invoicing an esoteric function that I should pay extra for?
2. The report generator is absent but many of the screens of the product refer to it.
3. Navigation between screens is poor, un-intuitive and does not fit in with the Windows paradigm at all. I thought we had seen the last of poorly migrated DOS based products that this clearly is.
Surely there is a law against selling products that are unusable without further expenditure?
