Good Points

*Nice and solid
*Good accuracey (after adjusting)
*Cheap price. (but I prefer a p23)
*Looks ALMOST like a glock because if its square body
*Perfect for a beginner

Bad Points

*The co2 tank MIGHT start leaking if you leave the co2 in there along time. (applies to all guns)

General Comments

(You may have read my other reviews, my reviews are in the SAME FORMAT but the infomation is according to the gun!)

Gamo Auto 45
I know what im talking about when it comes to COMPARING co2 arms. how are the other people suppose to rate their guns when they have no foundation to rate it upon! in simple terms, they only have 1 pistol and they don't own any other pistol. how are you suppose to compare gun? exactly my point.

I own 9 pistols, and when I review guns... I do know what im talking about. [own:crosman 1008b, c40, 357 revolver; gamo pt60, p23, auto 45, v3; walther CPS, CP99]

If you are interested in buying this gun I will tell you how to get it for really cheap at the end of this review.

***GENERAL:
This is a really nice gun. it is double action though. It almost looks likes a glock because of its square body. This gun is a BB gun and it is 410 fps. not bad. The accuracey is fairly good (after adjustment) and it feels really nice to shoot. It shoots 12 BBs or a single pellet at a time. In general a really nice gun. I like it. it was my first gun. however, this gun is not for pros or people looking for super accurcey. If your looking for a killing or accurate gun, I suggest you get a pellet gun. If your looking for a BB gun, I suggest you get a p23.

***CO2:
Now this gun is a really good gun when it comes to CO2 usage. If you get a genuine 12 gram CO2 tank, then you will get around 50-80 shots. If your careful you can get 80.

***REASON FOR GETTING LOW ROUNDS ON A CO2 tank:
The reason is simple. co2 is a gas. it is compressed into a powerlet (co2 tank) when it is in the powerlet it is a liquid (because when co2 is highly compressed, it is a liquid, so basically the whole tank is filled with co2 liquid). You get low rounds on any co2 powered gun because you rapid fire (shoot fast). When you rapid fire, the powerlet ejects co2 out everytime you pull the trigger. When a lot of co2 is ejected, the tank gets extreamly cold. When the tank gets extreamly cold, the PRESSURE of the powerlet goes down, which means lower vilolcity (fps) which mean lower accuracy. My suggestion is that you give and co2 power fire arms a resting period of 15 seconds in between shots so that the powerlet warms itself back so you can shoot with max FPS that your gun can handel.

***POWER and ACCURACY:
This is "good" for power and accuracey. It feels pretty powerful compared to other guns like the gamo V3. yay...! this is a BB gun. BB guns are made for accuracey, partly because it uses BBs. However, if you use LEAD BALLS, the story is different. LEAD BALLS can be as accurate as a pellet.

***DOUBLE/SINGLE ACTION:
Double action is when you pull the trigger and your gun fires. It is hard. The reason it is named "double" because the hammer goes 2 motions. It goes BACK -> then it goes forward <- in order to shoot an object.
Single action is when you "cock" the trigger back yourself and then pull the trigger. When you pull the trigger, the hammer only goes a forward motion. thats y its called single action. single action is EZer to pull, which means your hand will be more steady. Therefore your accuracey will increase. I strongly suggest anyone wanting to get a gun, get a double and single action gun.

can u use steel bbs in this gun because i read somewere that if you use anything other than lead bbs it can damage the barell.

  • SL33pyRiceBoi Rank: Captain on 22nd Jun 2004

yes it will. the auto45 has a rifled steal barrel. and copper BBs will do some damage to it. thats why you dont use BBs in rifles... well most of them. but BBs wont do THAT much damage to the rifling... just over the years, the rifling will be damaged.

  • JoelBarritt Rank: Captain on 9th Jul 2004

I to was curious about this and checked the steel BBs have a diameter of 4.4mm and the lead are 4.5, so if anything you would think the lead would cause more damage. Personally I suspect this is a ploy by Gamo to get people to buy their much more expensive lead BBs, an example of this is a tin of 500 lead BBs cost approx £3.00 where as a tin of Crossman steel bbs containing 1500 costs £3.20

  • SL33pyRiceBoi Rank: Captain on 12th Jul 2004

yes that size might be true, but then steal BBs are not malleable. LEAD is a malleable metal, therefore not damaging the barrel because it will form with the barrel. the steal BBs will eventually wear out the barrel causing you to lose your rifling and therefore your acc. will drop.

I looked around and generally people say steel bbs will damage the rifling so keep away from them just to be on the safe side I’m only using pellets in my auto 45 iv found crossman powa pells to be good in it giving good penetration and easy to load and also eley wasps although they do take a bit of pushing to get in but you save yourself £3.00 if you get them instead of powa pells
