Good Points

Build quility, exclusive (not many people have a Ripley!!), extremely accurate, good handling, consistent, beautiful furniture and it does not jam up every thirty seconds like those lesser rifles of the logun kind!!!!!!

Bad Points

None at all!

General Comments

I totally agree with other reviewers here about the Ripley XL9 air rifle. I've just spent 8 weeks hard work on a building site and i've sold one of my air rifles for £180 and i am still in debt!! But when i went for a couple of hours shooting session and came back with a crow, a squirrel and 6 rabbits some of which were hit at 60 yards (clean kills) it was worth every penny and all that meat is very tasty! Although it is no light weight rifle, unless u r some skinny weakling u should be fine, it is a proper mans rifle and it shows in the results!!!

The good hunters amongst us rarely need to shoot over 30yards!! But don't worry, with a bit of practice you may even get a mans share of quarry at a lesser range! Now doesn't that taste good?:)

I totally agree with all this man has to say about the Ripley XL9 rifle. I have an XL1 myself and it is the bees knees. I also have a Falcon FN 19 at 25 ft lbs and a BSA Superten at 11.9 ft lbs, both of which are excellent rifles. So why slag other rifles just because you think yours is the best?????

but the logun (axsor) does always jam..i've recently bought an axsor AND an aa s410,all i can say is i wish i'd read these reviews first, cause despite the dosh, neither are my 'ultimate' gun..accuracys no good when you gotta shoot something 7 times to kill it..you need ft/lbs,now i dont know what to go for...!

I agree, the XL9 is a fantastic air rifle but it should be for its price! i own an s410 in .177 and it is the most accurate gun i own. For those that dont know..its all about shot placement not power, as a rabbit shot with a 85ft/lbs pellet in the foot will bunny hop all the way home.

Although I don't doubt the ripley is a supurb rifle,60 yrd shots are pushing your luck. I also agree that marksmanship isn't the only skill a hunter needs. What about the skill involved in getting within 10yrds of your quarry? You cannot overcome bad hunting practice with a flash rifle no matter what it costs.
