Good Points

Space - replaced my XM Estate
Grace - I love the looks with the (low cost) 17" optional wheels
Pace - 2 litres isn't a lot for this big a car, but it still moves

Oh yeah - and the power tailgate

Bad Points

Rear accomodation lacks the pockets, trays, cubbyholes etc that the MPV crowd now expect

General Comments

The Honda Accord Tourer 2.0 SE was bought as family transport, so we shopped around all the MPV options as well. We all preferred being inside the Honda to any of the MPVs.

With 2 kids and a dog, space is always important and the extra wheelbase on this estate (Compared to the saloon version) makes it an easy place to be on long journeys although the rear is a bit short on door pockets / storage.

The trim is surviving the bashing that kids & dogs give it and stills cleans up well - but it does show the dirt.

I went for the optional 17" wheels and was initially worried it might give too hard a ride (I'm used to Citroens!) but I find the suspension a brilliant compromise. When you're in the car alone it is quite firm, and the car handles like a hot hatch - when the car is full of kids, dog and related gear, the extra weight calms the suspension down and it makes a great cruiser.

On the downside, a petrol 2 litre is a bit small for the size of car, so you end up using the gears when it's full. No hardship given the gearchange quality and smooth engine, but the fuel consumption suffers. There are options of a 2.4 litre and an award winning 2.2 diesel if this worries you.

Overall we love the car to bits.

Hi there, I don't mean to be rude or anything, and I'm not down grading the accord AT ALL as I love them but why didn't you consider a 4x4 if you didn't find a good enough MPV?
