General Comments

I've had 2 pairs of Etnies Sal 23 shoes. 1st pair were great, I thought I'd finally found a shoe to replace my all time favourite shoe - the Emerica Marc Johnson 1.
Unfortunatley, although these shoes look real smart they are real uncomfortable.
Its NOT because they are flat soled or have no airbags, I prefer shoes with no airbags & are flat because they give great foot to board contact.
The problem is that the soles dont seem to wear in & feel real thick so you cant feel your board.
The rubber used in the sole also seems real hard, not like other 400NBS soled shoes I've skated. Maybe this is why they last for ages?.
The Ollie protection is a waste of time. Its only a little strip of rubber running down from the 1st eyehole & doesnt protect the laces or toecap & also digs into my little toe on the inside of the shoe.
I had to eventually stop wearing them because I was in severe pain & hard a huge piece of hard skin on my toe.
B4 anyone said it yes they were the correct size & werent pulled too tight but this may be down to me having slightly wider feet than others, I dont know.

Anyway, they look great to walk around in & are nice and cheap, but dont buy them to skate in - those soles are real tough.
If youve got wide feet go for eS Accels or Etnies Raps because they look & cost the same but you wont have the Ollie protection digging into your toe.
