General Comments

This Gigabyte GA-7VRX motherboard just rocks! I have purchased 7 mainboards this year, most being budget boards and I'll tell you this board seems very solid! After replacing every damn board I purchased this year all which were based on an awful sis chipset I decided to just replace them with a Via based board. This was the only VIA board my OEM dealer had in stock on a Monday so I bought it without a second care for its features and quality. I build the machine and it has the fastest post I have ever seen! Almost every dealer around is just hawking ECS K7s5a's and MSI ULTRA 745s and bost that they are so great for the money and they have never had a problem BULL. They still tell me that if I pretend to be a new customer on the phone, even though I have returned 4!!! The only thing that is good about a SIS board is their markup. BUY a VIA board, buy this board!

I have just a few questions about this board. First of all I have 512MB PC 2700 on this board and the user's manual says "Because the quality of PC2700 module is varied,we don't recommend you use 3pcs of PC2700 module at the same time". That disturbed me because I want to increase to 1 gig of ram. What exactly does that mean? Am I taking a chance if I install another PC 2700 chip? My other question is: 'will this board support a G4 TI 4600 or Radeon 9700 pro'? A response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have just a simple question: Is it true that this board overheats (I don't know if this is the most apropriatte term) the processor. I have an Athlon XP 1600+ and he stay like : 57(idle) 63(full load) and 42-44 for the MB. The VcoreA is 1,77V( I heard it's a little bit high) and I want to decrease it but I don't know how. I have a Titan D5TB cooler and no case coolers. What do you think about it? What should I do? Please contact me at dst@k.ro if you have some solutions for me.TNX
