General Comments

I recently bought this Sony KV32FQ75(S) TV from my local Alders (£1289 inc 5 yr warranty) and have so far I am very happy with the set. I have a U suffix set, not the S and do not see the horizontal scrolling. The demo in the store had a poor picture quality until the asst. used a good quality scart cable from the DVD player. TIP Dont use cheap cables, get good oxygen free individually screened cables and keep them to a reasonable length. When you spend this much on a TV don't ruin it with a £2.99 scart cable.

I am not very happy with the menu structure. I design UI for computer software so this may be more of a gripe for me. I also do not like the set changing modes on me. It seems to switch from wide to smart to zoom, especially during the advert breaks, and once in the middle of Shrek. I would like to be able to disable this but so far have not found how to make it stick to a particular mode. Also, I would like to change the TV channel underneath the teletext display when using the dual tuner mode.

    You can stop the TV constantly resizing the picture by going into one of the menu's (think its the Set-up one) and changing the format option to 'Off' or 'Normal'. If it is set to 'Auto' the television will constantly adjust the picture to fit the screen fully. On a general note I am on my 2nd set now after the first one blew up after 3 hours and am fairly happy with it. I agree the lack of a 2nd RGB socket is a pain but for TV released in October 2000 this is an acceptable trade off for picture performance that can rival the newer Pixel Plus sets recently introduced. All the best.

    I today purchased this from www.comet.co.uk - however when it arrived I noticed it had a B suffix. - Does anyone know whether this is the European version - and does it have all the same features as the S suffix (including the DCF feature?)

    Though I have a KV32FX65, I think the following is probably still true;

    Suffix B probably means it was intended for Belgium. Mine had 'E' and a Spanish wiring diagram. The handbook was an English photocopy too! Bought mine cheaply and knew it was a grey inport - the dealers told me.

    So far as I can tell, does everything it should. Menu offers choice of language, and all features in the handbook work fine.

    My first KV-32FQ75 had bleeding red when using RGB. Got it replaced and now it'w working wonderfully. You can select what TV-channel to watch while in Teletext by using the up arrow I think it was, then selecting a new channel. Works great.
