General Comments

If you want a great plinker and light hunter this Gamo Sporter 500 is the gun for you!
I love mine despite how many people rip on Gamo this model I think is well worth it. Its like a cheaper R7 only much more powerful. It shoots crosman 7.9 pellets at around 730fps.
I've shot many grackles and squirrels with mine. All kills were from 15yds + and humane. I've mounted a Simmons 4X scope on mine, but I think it's actually more fun to shoot the gun with open sights. At 25yds I can consistantly send shot after shot in the bulls eye. But I also tuned mine greatly so it may have an impact on accuracy. Well if you're looking for a accurate airgun that will last you years and years the Gamo Sporter is what you want!

I have had my Gamo Sporter 500 for few years now. It is true that the stock is poor and easily scratches. However, the triger can easily be tuned for a lighter pull and the rifle has superb balance. It is also faster then most air guns at 1000 fps and shoots farther, up to 310 yards! Great value for money, lasts forever.

Hey Robin, I also have my trigger tuned and it became very light.
