General Comments

I had my Nokia 6250 mobile phone for about 3 days. The first two days I charged it. The third day I (1) removed the back and (2) inserted the SIM card and went to lunch with friends.

Of course I wanted to show off, so I ordered a large glass of water and inserted the phone. The phone went off in 10 seconds, got "liquid damaged" and never came on again.

1. My local Nokia "representatives" said that I forced the back on the phone when I inserted my SIM card, so it was my fault -- despite the fact that I mentioned to them that (1) the back was on the phone when I bought it and (2) maybe it was just a defective back.

2. A few people from Nokia said I should not have put the phone in a glass of water for 10 seconds -- that is, despite the claim that the phone can withstand 1 meter of water for 1 minute.

So for reasons 1 and 2, my claim was not considered by my local representative or Nokia. Be careful taking the back off the phone. You might even want to have the local representative do it themselves and then test the phone before you leave their office.
