Good Points

Affectionate, lively, playful, good guard dog.

Bad Points

Loves to chase anything small and furry or small and feathered - wherever it goes.

General Comments

We have had a border terrier for 2 years and love him dearly. Borders are often described as big dogs in small dogs' bodies and this is very apt. He loves running and long walks, but is equally happy curled up on a lap or in front of the fire. Not the brightest of animals, but definitely loving.

My Border terriers are the most intelligent dogs i have ever owned
They love children, are good house dogs and are very sociable with other dogs unless the other dogs attacks them and then they more than look after themselves. I always had bullterriers in the past but I will only ever own Border's now - they are my perfect companion.

I have a Border Terrier dog and a Bull Terrier bitch. The Bully is a lovely girl, very loyal and crazy. She is not stupid, just very stubborn. She also hasn't got the patience to wait and think about it, but we love her. Our Border, on the other hand has got the lot. He is a real thinker, a very clever wee dog. She may think she is top dog because of her brawn----wrong! The Border could survive most things because of his intelligence and patience, and he doesn't panic. He is a perfect companion. If you want to laze all day so does he. If you want to go on a 20mile hike up a mountain so does he, even though he is nearly 10. He is also the sweetest natured wee dog. His only vice is he chases cats, rabbits, sheep, squirrels ect. Oh, and he isn't keen on St Bernards, Bloodhounds, Collies and Springers. Well, they are a bit daft aren't they? Yes I am certainly hooked on Borders.
