Costa Teguise, Pecatello Resort Hotel Review

The children's entertainers were excellent and trustworthy. Pizzas were good.

A run down and badly managed resort where even the staff admit that the powers that be do not care about anything except for filling rooms.

There is no way on earth that the Pecatello Resort Hotel should be classed as 5 star. The bedlinen is appalling - the pillows stank and the beds were damp, the floor tiles were broken and there were cockroaches in the rooms and on the beach which were never removed. The cleaners, when they turned up, were useless. There was only one restaurant open in the evening, which is not enough for the size of the resort, and this meant that people waited up to an hour to be served.

But the most disappointing thing about the Sands Beach was the behaviour of some of the guests. One man was thrown through a plate glass window, teenagers were openly taking drugs, whole families were drunk and disorderly until the early hours. Whilst we were there, seven families were evicted - someone should make a tv programme about this place. Will we go back? What do you think?!

  Its a pity the way this resort has gone, formerly Lanzarote Beach Club, we had many happy holidays here in years gone by, but things have changed. Best thing we ever did was to part exchange the week we owned and get out, before it was to late. Maybe in time the site may be re developed, friends of ours visited recently and gave an equally poor review. My advice for what its worth go somewhere else .

  We have stopped at this resort for the last five years - often visiting twice a year. We last stayed in August 2003 and will not be returning! The once spotlessly clean resort was strewn with litter including empty beer bottles in the flowerbeds.
  The safe family atmosphere has been ruined by yobs running wild - quite frankly the behaviour by the pool at Playa Verde will result in someone getting seriously injured. Security didn't seem interested and most of the time we couldn't allow our children to use the pool. The final straw was going for lunch at the Mai Tai to find that someone had deliberately stuck chewing gum on a chair seat - something I didn't discover until I tried to get up and found myself glued to the seat! We stayed at the resort with IVC points - we havent renewed our membership this year because we no longer wish to stay at this resort. An expensive lesson learnt!!

  Are you sure you went to Sands Beach in Costa Teguise. I have just returned with my family 4 adults, & 2 children 14 & 6. We stayed on the beachfront, The accommodation was spotless. Not a cockroach in sight. The only problem we had was with the remote control for the TV this was sorted immediatley. As for the bed linen this was all brilliant white and changed every couple of days. We never saw any other residents taking drugs or behaving disorderly. You must have been un lucky with the guests whilst you were there. We also had several meals on the complex (Hacienda Restaurant) - We did not have to wait too long for a table and found the food very good. The entertainment team, especially the kids entertainers were fantastic. We had a great holiday and have already booked to return for New Year. My kids thought it was one of the best holidays they have been on (Dominican Republic 5* last year). It was very family orintated and very safe. I think you have just been unlucky with the other guests whilst you have been there.
