Superb looking, handling, build quality, performance & exhaust note! Many 'extras' as standard on this coupe - e.g. brake assist with corner braking control, abs & tc, reverse park, computer, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, digital climate control, etc.
Not a cheap car, with many options being expensive. Also, I thought range of colours available was limited.
When first looking at a BMW 3-series coupe, I was undecided whether to go for a 318ci (new high-output 4-cylinder 2-litre), 320ci (2.2 litre 6-cylinder)or a 325ci (2.5 litre 6-cylinder); 330ci was out of question (cost & company car tax co2 emmissions!). However, although 318 drove well, the exhaust note of the 6-cylinder 320 soon quenched this choice. Also, the slightly greater cost of the 320 over the 318 was outweighed by a couple of more 'extras' being inclued (electronic handling package, twin exhaust, chrome sill plates, etc.). The 325 was out-voted due to the greater cost prohibiting the 'extras'I wanted on my 'approx.' budget. So, the 320ci of choice provides very good performance for its' type, with legendary BMW build quality & styling, plus providing a good level of gadgets as standard. Topaz blue is my selected colour (which looks electric when clean or wet) with gorgeous 18" M 'V' alloys (susceptible to 'kerbing' though!), boot spoiler (not too XR3ish) and grey cloth trim with a subtle grey piping. The £125 option of a centre arm rest is a must, along with setting aside the extortionate sum of £200 for 'mats & flaps'. All in all, a circa £25,000 car to dream about (pre & post owning!)
