Bad Points

Word to the wise check out Disney's calendar BEFORE booking at this hotel. We had the misfortune to be there the same time that Disney was hosting a national cheerleaders computation. Over 2000 cheerleaders ALL over the place!! They were rude, disruptive, caused food fights every night, used the curt yard to practice every morning at 6am so don't plan on sleeping in. They hogged the hot tub and sit very bad examples for the children. The different troops did not get along so they were always fighting and swearing. Twice I was on a bus that had to stop and let them off because of fights. They traveled in packs so anywhere they went they would take up a whole bus so everyone else would have to wait for another bus to come. The only other problem that we had was that when it gets below 50 degrees they close all the outdoor activities. That meant the waterslide, hair braiding, tattoos, band and pool bar were all closed. Coming from NY and 7 feet of snow 50 degrees was a heat wave and we were ready to party in the sun and were disappointed.

General Comments

Walt Disney World Caribbean Beach Club Resort is absolutely beautiful. I loved the tropical theme. The white sandy beaches were very relaxing and always empty. Parrot Island is the perfect spot for pictures. The castle pool was a lot of fun for the kids but the pools at each island were quieter and easier to swim in. I highly recommend the Banana Cabana, which is the house special at the Banana Cabana poolside bar, best tropical drink I ever had. Port Orleans has a lot of fun things always going on. The food court and the shopping were very good. There is so much to do at the resort that if I were to ever stay there again I would stay one day at the resort with out buying tickets to the park. Before going there I heard that you have to walk a long way to get everywhere. I was not much for walking so I was nervous about this. I found this to be untrue. Nothing was that far away and the walk was very enjoyable. If you really don't want to walk there is plenty of transportation to take you anywhere you need to go.
