Good Points

Well this is a VERY slimmed down list as it would go on for ever!
There is lots to do.
You will never be board
It is sutible for all ages.

Bad Points

There is unfortunatly a down side. The prices can add up and so you have to be careful on how much you spend!!

General Comments

So, where do i begin? Alton Towers in Staffordshire is one of the best, enjoyable, fantastic and brilliant parks in England. I highly recommend it! Well, let me put it this way, Alton Towers managed to impress my dad. This is quite an acheivement! He has to be one of the most dull and boring people i have ever met, when it comes to theme parks, but something strange and mysterious happened. YES, a smile did actually appear on his face. I admitt that it was only for a split second, but it did happen. This is the power that Alton Towers has!

I loved it! The trip was a short break and only for two days. I went with my friends and i am very willing to sing the praises of Alton Towers.

For me the magic started very early on October 20th 2003. At roughly 6:30am we headed off to Reading Station. We travelled on a Virgin Train which was fast, comfortable and easy to book. If you are going to Alton Towers i recommend that you travel with Vrigin Trains. We got our tickets for £8 return. If you are doing a day trip then Virgin Trains to a complementary bus service to and from Alton Towers as a package with park tickets included. (Info from: www.virgintrains.co.uk)

Well what can i say about the hotel. We satyed in the Alton Towers Hotel, but now there is a choice between Alton Towers Hotel and the recent addition called Splash Landings. I would have to say that The Alton Towers Hotel would be the best Hotel to stay in. It is cheaper (which is important!) and has a magical theme to it. When you book to stay in The Alton Towers Hotel, you will receive tickets for all days that you are there and will also be given an entry pass to the waterpark so you don't miss out.

The plan for the day is get up and enjoy the full english breakfast that is included in the price, (VERY nice) and pack your bags and give them to a porter who will look after them free of charge for the rest of the day. I recommend to do this because you have to check out of your room at 3'o'clock and if you have to come back from the park to do this, then this will be a big chunk of your day taken up.

Meet at the pre-arranged meeting point for your early-rider entry into the park. This will let you have enrty 1/2 hour before anyone else gets in. Go to Nemesis and Air. Do them for about 45mins. This sounds like a short time but as there will be no queues then you will get many goes. As the rest of the park opens i suggest that you catch the Skyrider which will transport you to the other side of the park. At this point you should do Oblivion and Corkscrew and Spinball Whizzer, their lastest addition. When you stay the hotel Oblivion, Spinball Whizzer, Crokscrew and Blackhole are all on a fast track entry card that you get given. As the morning comes to an end start on the water rides. This is a good time as it is hot enough (in the summer) but not too busy as everyone else will be doing the big rides.

When eating i found that eating in the fast food chains was cheap but i got sick of pizza towards the end. Many of these shops are dotted around the park. So you are exhusted after a busy day in the park. What are you going to do?? Go to sleep maybe? I don't think so. You can now head to the water park. Splash Landings is one of the biggest water parks in Europe. With many water slides and a HUGE tube that drops water all over the park then you will be soaking wet and dead on you feet. What do you want to do now? Go to sleep, i don't think so. It is now time to watch the entertainment. This is suitable for all ages. With a performance of singing and dancing with lots of audience participation you will love it.

Now you can go to bed. I thought that the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable and i had a great nights sleep. You really need to re-charge your batterires. Just make sure you ask for a wake up call!!

I really enjoyed Alton Towers. I loved it so much that i am going back for two nights this time with some friends.

If you go enjoy it.
If you don't, you're missing out. BIG TIME.
