Good Points

Good value for money, plenty of torque, "soft-start" facility, good ergonomics

Bad Points

Awkward switch, obtrusive safety guard

General Comments

Available at your local B&Q, this Performance Power angle grinder is ideal for the home mechanic. Retailing at a mere thirty-nine notes, it is inexpensive and has surprisingly good build quality.
The 2kva motor has plenty of grunt, and comes with two spare sets of brushes, so a long life is expected. It is backed up by a one-year warranty.
Although a large grinder, it is quiet and does not suffer extensively from the gyroscopic effect that plagues most 9" grinders.
Apart from the uncomfortable deadmans' handle, there is little to fault this tool.
Will slice through angle, box, solid bar with ease, although consumes cutting discs at quite a rate.
Again, for the keen DIY mechanic, it would be difficult to better.
