As rapid as!!! subtle styling and with few mods can look amazing. so comfortable. would have to spend a fortune to buy something you'd be happy with after owning one. once again fast!!
Porous cylinder head ( yes it got me too)!!! rear arches (but cheap enough to have replaced)
Had my Vauxhall Cavalier GSi 2000 16v C20XE for two and a half years now. It still raises a smile everytime I boot it! love the way no modern two litre is anything like as fast and get such a buzz blowing loosers in TTs and the like!!
My engine is standard and has just passed the 100000 mark. It had done 62500 when I bought it off a lady friend, who had it from new. I was nineteen when I got it, so insurance was high, but worth every penny. I had the head done, cause it was porous. The arches too were completely replaced, so it looked like brand new. the car is lowered 35mm and sits on a set of team dynamic 17 inch alloys. To compliment the gorgeous sound of the c20xe I had a stainless exhaust fitted.
The car was written off for me last April (2003) but I rebuilt it and it now looks better than ever. Super performace and driver comfort. Advise to anyone with a Gsi is, get it lowered and sit it on some big wheels - this brings the handling up to standard with the performance. monster motor!!! PS any ideas on how to stop the girlfriend going mad when giving it some greatly recieved!!??
