Beautiful harmonies, haunting melodies. Traditional Scottish music at its finest.
The ability to transport the listener to the Scottish Borders, and to Scotland's bloody past.
Not long enough, only 13 tracks.
Scocha tell tales of the history of the Scottish borderlands in song. These talented musicians use their music to illustrate the story of their ancestors.
'The wail of Flodden' makes the hairs stand up on the back of ones neck.
'Bonnie Teviotdale' beautifully describes the land of their birth, as does 'My Borderland'. The song ' Auld Mid Raw' can bring on tears, it tells sad the tale of an old row of houses being demolished in the name of progress.... a relic of the past.
There are another 9 brilliant songs on the album. Scocha's debut will be hard to beat but I await the second in anticipation. Check out the website www.scocha.com for more information.
