General Comments
I brought a nokia 3300 mobile phone from the link at a very reasonable price, it was only £100 as the nokia ngage had come out to replace it. It was used for 4-5 weeks before the mp3 stopped working and i took the phone back to the shop wanting it replaced. They said i could not have the phone replaced as i had had the phone for 3 days over a 28 day return policy. I had no option but to have it repaired
The phone was sent off to mastercare, the link's insurers and i was told the phone will be back with me within 7-10 days
2 weeks later and i was in the link inquiring where my phone had got to. Apparantly it wasn't just the mp3 player that was not working but there were other faults with the phone and it had been sent to nokia who would try and repair it. Fine, but why was i not informed i asked.
The maximum amount of time i thought the phone could possibly be with them was three weeks i thought. WRONG. At three and a half weeks i was told by the link that nokia had no traces of my phone and that i would have to wait and see if they had it.
Finally, at five weeks i phoned up AGAIN and i was told that mastercare had the phone back and they were doing 'quality control' whatever that is and it would take at least another week before i would get the phone back, this would mean i would have to go 6 weeks overall without a phone. I was told that the best thing they could do was give me £20 credit. I was also told if we called mastercare they would update us so we called them immidiately. They were very helpful and told us that they don't know how old the phones are, they just repair them. The woman on the phone also told me that a 4 week old phone should not be sent to be repaired, it should be replaced. She told me to call the customer services for the company (the link, dixon, currys etc) and report the link to trading standards.
So after phoning their customer careline i was told about a repair policy that the company have. If they take more that 28 calendar days to repair a product, i am entitled to a refund of a replacement phone of equivlalent value.
So i phoned the link up and the guy was STILL trying to make excuses, it was bad enough he lied and didnt tell me i was allowed a refund but he was still trying to make excuses and was umm'ing and err'ing whislt he was trying to think of what he can say.
Eventually he had to give in and i finally got my refund after so much hassle i decided i did not want another phone with them. Instead i decided i would go back to the O2 shop which i normally got to when buying a phone and i trush the people there. Overall i would not reccomend the link to anybody buying a mobile phone as the people there do not know what they are talking about.
