Good Points

Inexpensive
Extreamly accurate (after adjustment)
Realistic look
Very balanced weight
Easy to use.
For Pros and Newbies

Bad Points

There is none if you know what your doing. The only reason people say it gets JAMED is because they dont use the proper pellet.

General Comments

I am not a newbie at air pistols. I have owned 16. 10 pistols and 6 rifles. So I feel I know what im talking about when comparing these guns.

RASON:
This is one of one of the best overall guns out there. It is inexpensive ($45) and is VERY powerful. It is more powerful and more accruate than most $100+ dollar guns.

GETTING JAMMED:
people say it gets jammed. Well, that is because they are using POOR quality pellets or pellets are are not brand CROSMAN. If you use any other type of pellet, then it might get jammed, especially if you use RIFEL bullets. Yes they are simlar in shape and size, but the crosman is made for REVOLVER type guns such as this one (guns that use a revolving clip for a magazine). If you have any type of revolving magazine, then I suggest you get the crossman pellets. I only got JAMMED once for useing the wrong type of pellet. ever since, I used crossman pellets, it NEVER got jammed again. =]

CO2:
Now this gun is very good on CO2 for a 430 FPS. If you get a genuine 12 gram CO2 tank, then you will get AT LEAST 50 rounds out of your tank. I usually get 70 + - rounds on a tank.

REASON FOR GETTING LOW ROUNDS ON A CO2 tank:
the reason is simple. if you pull the trigger at a constant rate too fast (rapid fire), then the tank gets drained a little faster than normal. (by rapid fire I mean shooting 8 pellets in around 2 seconds...that is rapid fire)

POWER and ACCURACY:
This is a very powerful and accurate gun. Its a 430 feet per second... you do the maths... from my experience, it is able to pearce a squirel at a range of 20ft.
LOOKS:
this guns looks great. it looks like a .45 tatical (like the one in Counter-Strike but only black). It is made of a type of Synthetic poly-carcon. if you are looking for a gun exactly like this but made with REAL Zinc Alloy. it looks and feels exactly like a real gun. but its freaken heavy (like a real gun). But the quality is the same as the 1008B

My air auto II is what I call a squirt pistol and it can out do your crosman 1008B in a heart beat, and as for co2 usage you are not getting full advantage of the tank at so many little of shots here. If you allow rest times of about 3 to 5 min you get more and more shot. Even my walther ppk/s gets 150 shots to 1 tank, If I allow rest time hence why I take a few guns with me so i can keep shooting while my tanks warm back up, especialy after rapid firing which does NOT drain the tank fast, but gets its wicket cold so you lose power. If you are rapid fireing then you need to allow the tank to warm back up and go another 10 or 15 shots and repeat your rapid firing, my wife gets 11 10 shot clip on her 357 and it shoots only pellets. We have used many type of pellets and never a problem yet, as for the jaming thing that from wearing down the clip, metal or plastic clips will wear out fast if you are shooting a lot, therefore casueing jam ups and this is comman amoung all air guns. Futhermore I have been shooting pellet guns and bb guns since I was 10 years old and that give me 25 years of experience plus I fix and rebuild pellet guns antique and new models as too. I presently have 5 rifles 6 pistols 1 of which is my wifes pistol and i am buying more and more rifles and pistols. For fun I will pick up a 1008b and give it a go and i am wiling to bet I get a few jams here and there, I will get at least 100 to 120 shots a tank. I will also compare crosman and brass eagle tanks then I will let you know how I did. Any how look for my follow up review in about a month or so on the 1008b model and I will give you my answers on it ....

Quite a good review sl33pyRiceboi,I also own a 1008b and find it a reasonable pistol. Mine also jams but i have been using milbro match and caledonian pellets so after reading your review I will change to crosman next(although they are about twice the price of the milbro), and also sometimes the barrel pops up too which is a pain in the behind. Which pellets do you find work better flat or domed?. As for shots per co2 you are spot on , I get between 48 and 56 full power shots after that the pellets hardly make it out the barrel. I found that if you leave more time between shots ie 20 seconds you get less shots per powerlet!! this is because you are letting the co2 warm back up and get more fps than in rapid fire where the velocity drops. As for K MILLARD thinking he will get 100-120 shots to a powerlet his pistol must be faulty and shooting at very low velocities.

haha yes I agree with you friend. Both of you. I must appoligized on the co2 thing, because I read somwhere long ago when I first started collecting air guns, that it was because of the rapid fire. Maybe it was for some other gun or something else... any how, I must respectfully disagree with KMILLARD about getting 120 shots out of a 12 gram powerlet co2 tank. I have never in my life had a air pistol that shot 120 times with a single powerlet tank. Some rifles are an exception. But im sure a 12 gram co2 powerlet tank cannot fire 100+ rounds.

As for the answering Dougie\'s question about different kinds of pellets. flat or domed or pointed. They all give you about the same amount of accuracey. I use pointed ones. Anyways, domed pellets are used for... aww rubbish... I just got confused agian... I know its either the dommed one or the flat one that is use in competition, and the other is use just for plinking (shooting cans). Well you get the point... one of then is used for shooting cans and the other is used for compeition... and the pointed ones are used for hunting.

oh yea, you must be wondering why the Crossman pellet doesnt get jammed. Yes it is true that the revolver gets worn out, but it is not the main reason. The Crosman pellets are a little more, how should I say this... they are a little more THICKER on the outsides circumference... im not sure if thinker is the right word to use. but yea... because of its thickness, the revolver hole is able the weld into the pellet and hold it in position better. im not sure if my explaination makes sence. You will have to buy crosman pellets to see wat I mean.
o yea, thx for the responses.

O yea, one more think, I thought it over and there is no way you can get that many shots (regarding Kmillard). When you let your tank warm up, the air molecules in there speed up, and by speeding up, the pressure increases, and when the pressure increases, you have more velocity (FPS). The more velocity your gun has, the stronger the shot. The stronger the shot, the LESS shots you will be able to shoot.

Simple chemistry my friend (and yes co2, carbon dioxide if a molecules not a partical)

Try shooting in 50 degree weather and then in 80 degree weather (it might take a year to try both however) and you will see you get many more shots out of a cartridge when it is hotter outside. Shooting in 30 degrees, I got about 30-40 shots out of this gun, but this summer I got around 60.

You can’t get over a 100 shots with most pistols; the most I got from my Beretta 92fs is 90 shots (I usually get around 80). But with my Walther PPK I get 135 shots with every CO2, but only because it’s not a powerful gun, so it doesn’t use as much air.

I have tried a Crosman 1008B. It is very powerful for about 30 shots, and the rest of the 30 shots were very weak. A co2 gas bottle probably gives 60 shots for a 1008B. It is not a very impressive co2 pistol. The quality of the gun is poor (80% of the gun is made of plastic).
