Good Points

very reliable,
Sexy - looks like a euro rally car, Not that quick but for a 1.8 litre non turbo, it moves when it has to.
very fun to drive.
A DRIFT MACHINE.
Very light.
Perfect for a system,
A must have for drifters and electronics enthusiasts.

Bad Points

The e-brake went very quickly, that is a standard defect on many VWs.

General Comments

I have a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 GTi 16v 96 Red & White 16v DOHC 1.8 litre GTI. I have a wings west body kit painted white with the door handles, lens caps, side mirrors and spoiler also white. still on the stock 16" alloys, but I should be getting some Tenzo R Mean 6 gunmetal/aluminum 17's soon.
Magnaflow cat back exhaust with monza headers. It's been dropped 2.0" in the and 1.35 in the back with eibach sportline springs. What I really pride myself on is the system though. The GTI's come stock with an 8-speaker monsoon bose set up. I kept all those and added 2 silver sony Xplod 6 1/2's and 2 silver 6x9's. I have a motorized 52x4 watt Xplod deck with motorized flip face running to a 480 watt Xplod amp to 2 12" silver 800 watt xplod subs. needless to say this is a high quality sound machine.
If you are into electronics, I recommend the GTI and/or golf. The hatchback setup makes it ideal for quality and volume without trunk rattle. For best sub sound, have the box facing up at the rear window so it bounces back to you instead of straight back muffling the sound. Also, GTI's are ideal for drifting. Even on stock suspension, they're perfect. Very easy to handle in a drift and very light.
