_Life Strategies_ is filled with savvy statements that speak to the "Inner Grown-up" within us all. Well-organized. A sympathetically blunt text that raised the bar of excellence for the Self-Help genre.
Clearly marketed for an American audience. Like too many other excellent self-help texts, it has too many "companion books" such as the _Life Strategies Notebook_ and _Life Strategies for Teens_.
Dr. Phil, brought to fame by his participation on the Oprah Winfrey show, demonstrates an uncanny knack to say what people need to here in this book. His "10 Laws of Life" show remarkable have similarity to the work of Don Web and other "Left Hand Path" authors. His message is a simple and straight forward one: you are responsible for your life, accountable for your actions and the maker of your own independence and happiness. Chapter by chapter, the author guides the reader along the process of overhauling their sense of personal accountability and capacity to sustain meaningful relationships and obtain successful outcomes.
I feel that this was one of the most significant books I have ever read. The life changes that have followed since I have begun to put Dr. Phil's _Life Lessons_ to the test have been phenomenally positive. His style might be a little too "sportsy" and Middle-American for some readers to identify with completely. For those who are looking for a hard and fresh approach to self-healing, however, I highly recommend giving this book a chance.
