Good Points
This phone is very strong and has continued to work perfectly even after throwing it onto a hard surface (however sometimes needs restart). It is also waterproof, you have no worries using it while raining (i even used it under the shower). Holds 200 phonebook space unlike the Nokia 33**. It's design is quite nice.
Bad Points
Battery life is disgusting, it ends having to be charged every 2 days, and after 1.5 years it does not hold for 1 day. Now i ve got a new battery. The battery indicator gauge is also rotten.
Reception is bad when compared to other phones.
The rubber on the back peels off after some time resulting in the phone getting ugly.
The rubber taps for waterproofing the phone are quite fiddly and get lost easily..
The display is relatively small for wap.
The games suck, phone sometimes switches off by itself, holds only 25 messages.
General Comments
Well, this phone is rather old and for the generic type of person who wants a mobile phone to phone and recieve calls and sens SMS it would be quite good (however take care of that battery life!) However it lacks a lot when compared to the 3310 (it was launched in that same period).
Now i am considering purchasing the 8310, after all nokia are dedicated to telecommunications and not dedicated to fridges, cookers........ and finally mobile phones.

If esthetics and games are what you want, then this phone is not for you - however I disagree on most of the bad points mentioned by Chris Bajda about this phone. All in all it is a rugged phone and MUCH more reliable than the 3310. Other than that, like the 3310, it has features that doen't exist in the 3310 such as WAP and Battery Care. Battery life is good initially however if the Battery Care feature is not used then I agree with chris that it will only last 2 days - this afterall, is only normal for a NiCad battery. Update the firmware to v21 and the phone ceases to switch off auto. This comes from a guy who currently uses and batters one of these phones.

Well Duhhhh!!!! Who takes off the waterprofing tabs, uses the phone in the shower and trows it delebriately hard to see if it still works? I mean come on, ok. How often do you use it in the shower anyway? Can't you just leave it off for 15 minutes it takes to have one. That should not be taken that into account (and who would in all fairness). Second, if your phone drops fair enough. I have dropped many phones but never deleberitaly bashed them on the ground. There not designed for that. So what, if it never worked again he is probabbly the type of person who would have written, "well it had a little fall and never worked afterward". His little fall was smashed on the ground but rather than admit his wrong he would be daft enough to blame the phone. I mean why!!! Why would you want to take of the rubber waterprofing?? Just cause the some phones can take that, doesn't mean there ment to. Get REAL!!!!
