Good Points

Small, neat, light. Fast downloads, 128Mb RAM allows you to hold *plenty* of songs. Audio **IS** very very good. Batteries don't seem to last THAT long though!

Bad Points

Jack-plug for headphones is quirky. If you push the headphone jack in all the way ...you won't hear anything. So! ..you have to slowly back it out (whilst playing something) so that you eventually reach a 'sweet spot' where you get both L and R channels. This is ridiculous! I have tried several headphones and the 'results' are the same.

General Comments

I had done my homework, had my budget ($300) allocated and had 'arrived' with a list of 5. Realized, quickly, that they were NOT making any more. :-( Still was resolved to get one nonetheless. Got one on e-bay and another one (yes, was so happy that I bought another one!) from the intel sales site itself. The unit just fits sweetly in your hand -- the 'accessories' are not cheap looking. The buttons/selectors are 'just right' and not complicated. The radio reception is a bit bogus unless you are close to the station and/or out in the open. The audio IS fabulous, no doubt about it. This fact alone MADE me want to buy one (even though they're discontinued) AND I was so impressed with the sound that I bought another one for my fiance. The software (to a Dell 8200 running XP) was EZ to install as were the firmware updates. No problems deleting or downloading files and no 'conflicts' either. Am 'happy' I splashed out some $600 for them both. I have no regrets -- I paid for and expected quality ...and I got it.
