Terrific imaging, good soundstaging (deeper than Q15s as well as taller), solid bass with usable energy down to 35 Hz, smooth, non-fatiguing highs, excellent clarity in the midrange, just gets out of the way of the music.
Mid-bass can be a bit thick; may be a function of my room (most exhibit peaks in the 60-90 Hz range). Starts to sound thin at VERY high levels but I don't listen to music that loud.
I have to agree with the previous reviewers. These Kef Q3's are terrific speakers for the money. I paid about 300 British pounds for them and they're worth every farthing. Down the line, one could add a sealed subwoofer designed for music and fill in the 20-40 Hz octave, and, if blended seamlessly, you'd have full-range music that was detailed yet smooth and non-fatiguing.
