The throaty growl on acceleration, the sexy curves. Not since the era of Frogeye Sprites and MG Midgets has anyone made a two seater for the masses.
Very basic dash - could have done with some extra syling here to lose the Corsa image.
I have owned my Vauxhall Tigra for around 6 months now. I admit, it was the Tigras' exceptionally good looks that made me choose it, but I was impressed with the car's performance. Unlike most, I was not expecting a racing car - it's a Corsa underneath! The engine responds quickly and growls seductively, the brakes are, I admit, a bit on the soft side but once you're accustomed to the feel, you know they'll be there when you need them. The steering is excellent, no under or oversteer, nice and easy.
I think most people looking at the Tigra expect it to match up to cars in a totally different price range. The truth is, it should be compared with the small hatches. Against rivals in the same class, it fares extremely well and wins hands down in the looks department.
