Everything.
Nothing.
Trying to decide on a honeymoon destination is not easy, so when my then fianc e and I both said the word "Mexico" at the same time, that was where we were going.
We chose the Blue Bay Club hotel in Cancun primarily on the picture in the brochure, and we weren't disappointed. We were told we'd get a bottle of sparkling wine, a fruit basket, and an ocean-view room as it was our honeymoon, and we did (the wine and fruit despite the fact we arrived at 1 am!).
The hotel was located away from the main hotel zone in Cancun, which meant that it was nice and peaceful. However, with a sister hotel in that area, it meant that if we wanted to be more central for the day, all we had to do was get on the free courtesy bus or boat.
The food and service were top notch. The main restaurant having a different theme each night, with plenty of variety. There were 2 a la carte restaurants which could be used up to 5 times (between the two) over the course of the stay, and they were absolutely superb.
In all, everything turned out to be better than we expected, and we had the perfect start to our marriage thanks to the Blue Bay.
