just returned from grand tour of turkey
It should have been made clear about the amount of travelling on the coach in the description, if we had known how much traveling was involved we may have chosen something different,
The first hotel we stayed in was the Taslik hotel in Istanbul. Very bad hotel the rooms were very tatty and appeared not to have been decorated for the last 20 years... the breakfast was awful with very limited choice, unfortunately we spent the last 2 night of the holiday here the room was slightly better but there was a distinct smell of damp ( even wood lice in the ashtray). Archers need to re think this hotel.
The rest of them better but not brilliant no A/C in the hotel in Ankara and Bursa which made the rooms very hot. The hotel in Ankara was apparently upgraded the food was very nice but was spoiled somewhat by them charging 4 TL for a small bottle of water with the meal and the waiter demanding payment for it there and then at the table very rude. Overall the food was poor always the same and never very warm best described as tepid.
The tour director was very good and knowledgeable, I would not recommend this tour
