Good Points
Lovely, evenly cooked, delicious bread. Good range of recipes. Easy to use. Easy to clean.
Bad Points
The beeping of the timer is a bit quiet and even when I am in the kitchen if it is noisy (with 3 children it often is!) it is hard to hear. I now set the timer on my oven to warn me when the bread will be ready.
General Comments
I bought this Panasonic SD255 Breadmaker 9 months ago, after becoming increasingly fed up of the tasteless bread I was buying at the supermarket, and it's rising price. Since buying it I have bought bread once or twice and even when I have gone for the 'premium' products I have found it to be less good than my breadmaker's bread. We now eat loads more bread and my 3 children prefer sandwiches made with it to school dinners. We bake wholemeal bread mostly, sometimes white, and sometimes the Italian breads for a change. While we don't use the feature to add nuts etc very often it is nice to have and the Italian sundried tomato bread and the seeded wholemeal are firm favourites.
Every loaf we have made has been great, although I have found some flours to be better than others and have had to vary the water content slightly with different flours.
I occasionally use the quick-bake and the bread is fine, but I do prefer the normal option, especially for a white loaf.
This machine is the best kitchen gadget I have ever bought and I wouldn't be without it now. I love it!
