“Stayed at Southerness April 10 in a private owned...”

Stayed at Southerness April 10 in a private owned caravan which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The site itself is immaculate. Entertainment, we can't comment on as we didn't use the showbar but we did venture in a for a look and there was a terrible musty smell!!! The amusements were ok, not really suitable for a 5 year old but there was softplay and snooker table so was kept amused. Also there is only one cashmachine on the site and it was out of order for the duration of our holiday, we were told we could only get money from cashback or head into Dumfries 14 miles away! So take plenty of money with you. The main complaint I have is the Coast Bar, the drink prices are a total rip off, I asked for a glass of wine and because the house wine was finished I was only allowed to purchase a bottle instead which cost £10!!!! Also had a bite to eat on our last night but after waiting 1hr 15mins for it to appear, we were'nt impressed, it wasn't cheap either!! Overall, the site is very clean and family friendly and the staff are very helpful but there is a severe shortage of staff for a site that size. The beach is also dreadful and not as its potrayed on the website. We found another beach a couple of miles up the road which was far superior.
