“booking lost at check in, no reply to email re a fault...”

written by ScottieMurphy on 08/10/2017

We handed over our printed document at the desk, the attendant couldn't find the booking, luckily I had my Ipad and got the email to show him, still couldn't find the booking. Another attendant tried to help and told me that we had booked wrongly and should have collected the car in February not August, I then had to explain the booking document further and showed that the car was booked and paid for in full on 23rd Feb to be collected on 24th August. We then had to wait for a manager and go through the whole process again. Eventually this was sorted with the manager. The staff did try their best to get it sorted but the computer wasn't having any!

As for the car a Grand Caravan was great, good on fuel, very comfy, loads of space, great air conditioning. However I started the car and got out to check the lights, the driver door closed and the car IMMEDIATELY locked all the doors and the boot! Engine running on the drive in full heat we had to call out a locksmith costing us $135. Luckily we had no small children in the car.
This theory was tested and the car never did this again, albeit Ive never known a car to immediately lock down whilst stable, once you get travelling - yes they lock, but this was a fault. Once back home I emailed Alamo and explained the problem, I never got a reply. You live and learn.
