“Free upgrade that wasn't. ”

Just rented a car from Maggiore in Venice Airport the counter person tried up selling me on a bigger car. I told him it was just me and my wife and I didn't need a bigger car. He then tells me that I could have a smaller car upgrade no charge. I asked him twice if it would cost me anything more and he said no. We returned the car before the office was open to catch an early flight. Maggiore sent me an email copy of my final invoice which included the upgrade charge for the car. Not cool. I will never use these people again. Their loss I travel to Italy often and always rent a car. This is the first and last with Maggiore.
