Sun Transfers: No help when things go wrong. We booked a minivan to take our family of 5 from BCN to a rental apartment in the city. On the trans-Atlantic leg of our flight, my daughter became ill and had to go to the hospital when we landed in Frankfurt. I called about 2 hours before our scheduled arrival at BCN to postpone our transfer. The rep said no refunds because it was less than 48 hours before the scheduled time. I asked if any exception could be made given the circumstances. The rep said she'd check with her boss and email me back. Later I got the answer: No, but here's a cancelation letter for your travel insurance. Well, no I didn't have travel insurance. Everyone else we dealt with in this situation (airline, hotels, apartment rental agency) was flexible and helpful, but Sun Transfers just kept our money. Looking at their policy later, it's not clear what they would have done if our flight had been canceled due to weather (which happened with our next two attempts to get from Frankfurt to Barcelona). When we finally got to BCN two days later, we just took two taxis, which worked out fine and cost less than what we wasted on Sun Transfers.
