“TERRIBLE COMPANY, BUY ELSEWHERE”

I ordered £120 of garden edging on Wednesday evening, with a spare set of pegs and connectors £1 each, for delivery today (Friday). The connector pegs, which only cost £1, were not in stock and not expected in stock for the next 13 days, so I just had to hope I wouldn't need them. A quote from the order confirmation reads: "If you have bought more than one different item your order may be sent in multiple packages and delivered separately. This means you will receive your purchases as quickly as possible. If 'Next Day Delivery' was not available on each product you purchased, we may not be able to deliver everything next day.", so I was expecting the edging to be delivered and the other item sent in the post later.
Full payment was taken from my account when the order was taken.

Having waited in all day I rang the company to check the delivery would still be coming today but was told no. The order would be sent when all items were in stock! When I pointed out the money was taken out of my account yesterday I was told "company policy is to take payment when an order is placed and not once the goods are dispatched!" They then said they would split the order and it could be delivered Tuesday, which was not any use to me. I asked about delivery tomorrow but was told this would not be possible. I asked to speak to a manager and was reluctantly passed to someone else, who eventually answered a question by saying he would have to speak to a manager! I said I thought he was a manager because I had asked to speak to one, but apparently not.

I have now cancelled the order and asked for a full refund ... but the refund will have to be authorised by a manager, it might not be authorised today, it could be Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

I am extremely disappointed with this company and will not be using them again. I have had to give the company one star as there isn't an option not to give any at all.
