“London Premed Projects This is my review of my trip...”

London Premed Projects

This is my review of my trip to London in February 2017 In a nutshell, it was fantastic. there was a large group of us, over 30, all staying next to Tower Bridge in London in dorms. It's scary when you don't know anyone and just have to make friends but everyone is the same so its actually really easy. I made best friends with the girls in my room and over the course of the week, we did everything together. I arrived direct at the accommodation so I can't comment on how it's like to arrive at the airport or train station but when I arrived, he was waiting for me in the lobby. That evening we all had food at pizza express and it was a girls birthday - the staff already knew this and had gone and bought a massive cake and a card that we all signed, little things like that make you feel right at home.

We spent our first day at St George's hospital - I have to say I may get the order of these days mixed up as it has been a few months since I got back! Here we shadowed a doctor and the day was all about neurology. he took time to explain everything you could possibly want to hear about the brain and we were able to see some human samples too included those with cancerous cells and other diseases.

The next day we forst aid trained and spent the day at Imperial University becoming certified first aiders. Then we had a day at the medical society of London where medical students spent the whole day teaching us about med school, how to get in, what we need to do and making sure we were happy with the whole process.

The following day we were at Whittington hospital witnessing a surgery and practicing clinical skills with the doctors too and on our final day, we went to St Batholomew hospital where doctors took us through clinical training.

Each evening we had different food, I am vegetarian and had lots of choices each night. To get to the hospitals we took the tube normally, it's busy but the staff kept us together although it wasn't exactly my favorite part of the trip it has to be said!

Overall, a wonderful experience, i wouldnt change a thing really, well worth the cost and if anyone is sitting on the fence I can't reccomend Premend Projects enough if that helps.
