“malfunctioning by day 2”

New AC split unit installed with 2 units. The first works perfectly, can't even hear it on and keeps 3 rooms about 450 sq ft very cool. Agree that the remote and the instructions leave a lot to be desired. The icon showing up on my remote is not listed on the instructions so I have no idea what it is and I can't get rid of it. It does not show up on the 2nd remote. The various swing positions listed on the manual, do not match the fewer positions on the actual machine. Then the second split unit was connected and running beautifully for 1 full day. The next afternoon, I come back to the house and the chemical smell of something like seriously strong adhesive or acetone is spewing out of the AC unit and overtakes you quickly. The chemical coats your mouth & throat and causes your eyes to burn and mental confusion immediately. I turned the 2nd unit off and the intensely strong smell dissipated when I opened the windows to air it out. Just getting near the machine, you could get a whiff of the noxious smell. I am seriously worried enough to have these units returned and replaced with another brand. I don't want to go to sleep thinking everything is fine and waking up to the high levels of chemicals that were present. I don't think I could ever trust this brand again after how quickly this positive experience became so intensely bad. I don't anticipate the professional AC installer will quickly remedy the issue either. There is a 3rd Gree unit still to be installed, and I am seriously concerned about the safety and quality of this company's products from my experience now.
