I received my renewal notice today and found that my premium had increased by 91% despite there being no changes in my circumstances. I telephoned and was told that increase in Insurance Tax Premium and inflation had led to the large increase in my insurance costs. As they together amount to approximately 12% I find this difficult to accept.
On examining my new renewal letter closely I saw that my premium for 2016 was recorded as £363.52. However the actual amount was £215.08. When I telephoned for a second time to query this, I was told it was purely an administrative error and that the policy renewal price was correct amount and could be lowered.
As loyalty counts for nothing I have now arranged insurance with Halifax for £184 less than you were quoting. I am reluctant to leave you but enormous increase in the price of the policy beggars belief.
