“All in all a good bike, having owned one for two...”

Written on: 24/08/2010

All in all a good bike, having owned one for two years, it's never let me down. True there are a few teething problems, but these can be easily resolved with an hours work overall. There are plenty of upsides; It's cheap to run, cheap to insure and if you look in the right places, easy to get parts for (Shameless plug, but they've earned it! - I personally use chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk, who specialise in Chinese bikes and usually get them to you next day). The main downsides are that due to lower cost materials, they tend to rust if left outside, so either store inside or coat liberally with ACF50 during the winter months. Second is that (maybe mentioned by other reviewers) these bikes tend to suffer from self-loosening engine mounting bolts which need to be tightened every so often, I think this is mostly due to having an unbalanced engine which vibrates everything loose - the engine won't fall off or anything, but will vibrate even more than usual if not securely fastened. Some screwlock or use of nylock nuts solve that issue. The only other problem is the sidestand switch and the sparkplug caps don't like water, but once rejigged or replaced, these no longer are a problem. Once those problems are addressed, it's a reliable and well behaved as any more expensive bike.
