“We chose to cruise due to fear of flying but booked...”

We chose to cruise due to fear of flying but booked with the intention of using it simply as a mode of transport to reach some sunnier climes before winter hits in.Because of our approach, we had no expectations of entertainment. Other than expecting clean, well maintained rooms and decent food,we had little agenda from the ship. We were, however, pleasantly surprised at the quality of service, the feeling of freedom around the ship and the general feeling of friendliness from all the staff. We enjoyed a very quiet time mostly spent reading on our balcony and taking brisk walks around the open decks of the ship before having a couple of drinks in one of the bars before retiring to our cabin. All in all, I felt the holiday was good value for money and, watching the other guests who had chosen to experience the ship's facilities, they seemed to have had an absolute ball. I may choose to cruise again in a few years and I feel the IOTS has set a good level of expectation for me.
