“I have the 1.6HDi Exclusive, I find the EGS extremely...”

I have the 1.6HDi Exclusive, I find the EGS extremely good, you can fool a biting point if you increase the revs slightly and it will hold it or creep forward, although I think EGS is too slow between gears and some planning is required when overtaking since you may need to manually change down a gear or two even in Automatic mode using the paddle.

There's nothing more scary than booting the throttle and finding the car doesn't respond as it's decided to change down at that point.

Overall though, despite the performance through the gears, I like EGS, which needs to be switched to manual and paddle operation when descending hills if you want to utilise engine braking.

The worst thing about the car is the front mud flaps, they are too low to the ground, and frequently scrape along the surface, I've broken both of them already mainly because they are too low and deliberately made of a brittle plastic, and are for these reasons the worst mud flaps I've ever seen on a car.

The third row of seats is designed for children, but make sure you don't buy a child seat to fit here until you've tried it in the car, since the amount of space is limited for some child seats when fitted in a reclined position.

There's very little space for storage behind the third row of seats when these are in use, so if you're going on holiday with a car full then you'll need one of the roof luggage options or a trailer, and the minimum I was quoted for a tow bar was £450+VAT.

The Michelin Primacy tyres were really good in the recent snow and ice, but possibly only because ESP, ABS, and Traction Control is fitted to the exclusive model, however, the snow played havoc with the rear suspension sensors, which indicated a suspension fault until the snow was cleared from around the rear suspension of the car.

I'm getting an overall average of 51.3mpg from the 1.6, but motorway journeys over the M62 are now averaging 68.8mpg after 6,000 miles, so I expect the overall average to rise.
