written by on 06/05/2009

Good Points
fantastic compact fold
smooth and comfortable ride for baby
complete with raincover, hood and basket
easy to manouvere and access smaller shops, narrow pavements etc
detachable hood

Bad Points
handles a little low for me at 5' 9"
basket difficult to access and rather small but glad there is one.

General Comments
I love the Petite Star Zia buggy and have much more freedom to go shopping in difficult areas due to the buggy been easy to manouvere and fit into small spaces. I was thinking of buying the Quinny Zapp(almost identical) but was sold on the fact that the Zia reclines (my baby is still only 5 months old) and come with a shopping basket (albeit small but able to hold a few essential items). I also got £20 off in Toys R Us as it is currently on offer. Love the Cranberry colour (a reddy pink and perfect for a girl). The seat is really spacious and baby looks very comfortable. The buggy can be put up and folded very easily and is wonderfully compact when stored. The ride seems smooth and confortable. Some people have commented on the poor fit of the raincover, especially near the foot area. I think that I have a more up to date raincover with mine as I had no trouble fitting it at all and I passed the velcro strap across the back of the front wheel before securing it so that there was a tight fit. The basket can be difficult to access, esepcially if baby is in the recline position (when it is virtually impossible to access) but I have got around that by buying a stroller net from Mothercare to keep my purse and other bits in. I tend to use the basket for baby items as I only need to access them when baby is awake. In an ideal world, at 5' 9" I would like slightly higher handles. It can be tricky getting up steps and steep kerbs as tipping it into its back wheels gives you a sense of straining the frame in some way, maybe I haven't worked out the knack of doing it properly yet. I managed to get a matching footmuff of the internet which looks very snug and sturdy although it does say it is sponge clean only. I am sure that I will have to try out the washing machine at some point on a delicate wash. I suspect that the seat might be difficult to clean to as it isn't removable (one of the reasons I bought the footmuff as the back doubles up as a liner).
