“I booked a table a week in advance for a Saturday...”

written by ruk786 on 20/07/2008

Good Points
nice starters, salads and Chutney's.

Bad Points
Busy, cramp, unwelcoming, people standing around when eating, doesn't seem very professional.

General Comments
I booked a table a week in advance for a Saturday night 4 adults with 2 children. I wanted the upstairs part of the restaurant as i heard from friends it was much more relaxed there, and having children with us would be more suitable. I was told over the phone this would not be possible as they only open the upstairs part when busy.... Now even i can tell you that any restaurant on a Saturday night is going to be busy, and i don't even work in a restaurant. I just had to settle for what they had at the time i guess. Having arrived at the car park... I thought it was awful, it had big deep holes on the ground, not very happy about that especially if you drive an expensive car or if it's lowered.

The restaurant seemed very cramped, people stood around as the bar area is so near to the entrance I couldn't tell if they were waiting for a drink or table. I spoke to a member of staff and told him of our reservation and to my surprise he said you never told me you had children with you. I was very shocked to hear this and felt very unwelcome, he said he was going to have to make more room... how nice!

The menu's were massive i mean like A3!!! I have never seen them that big before, after deciding what to eat we just didn't know where to put them!

The food was ok not the best I've had, i tried sheek kabab's for starters which where nice, nice was bigger than the other but the salad was lovely. The Lamb Kharai was ok too, the lamb pieces were very small! again not filled with much flavour.

After we had eaten they gave us lollies! As we weren't all children I thought mints would have been better for the adults.

The car park attendant was great, asked us how our stay was and if we enjoyed it etc, I'd expect the staff inside to do that!

Overall i will not be going there again, it was way to cramp, people were stood around even when we were eating as there was no waiting area.
