Good Points
Love it.
Can't say I love ironing any better, but at least I go through it faster and with less stress than before.
Bad Points
No bad points that I can say
General Comments
I really hate ironing, so this Philips GC7220 Steam Generator has been an absolute godsend. I was apprehensive to begin with, but I now spend less time doing the ironing. Even though I have had steam irons before, if the garment was really badly creased, it would take forever to get the creases out, but with the GC7220 steam generator, the creases seemed to melt away. The booklet says that it gives 3.5 bars of powerful pressure to expel 80grams of steam per minute deeper into your garments, relaxing the fabric and helping you remove all creases in a single stroke. It actually does what it says on the tin.
I found that if I have a larger than normal pile of ironing to do, I'm not filling the reservoir all the time like a normal steam iron, nor do I have to wait long for it to heat up.
Another good point is the ease of ironing, the iron itself seems to have no resistance at all to my clumsy ironing techniques. The steam-resistant ceramic-coated soleplate is specially designed to glide effortlessly across all fabrics, resulting in powerful crease removal.
The iron is really easy to clean " de-scaling takes place in under two minutes without the need to buy hard-to-find items like anti-scale cartridges. My mother was very impressed with the Philips GC7220 Steam Generator, so she will be a proud owner of one, or one like it very soon.
