We use JustHostMe.co.uk for a small club website and find it very cost effective for a start up website. £50 for 2 years, 2GiB storage & 26GiB/month traffic, it's more than we're using at the moement and I doubt there is much of a better deal around. The available server bandwidth, (both processing and serving) has been good as far as I know, even at peak times; unlike some other hosts which offer "unlimited" storage/traffic.
And with the cpanel interface, even beginner webmasters can quickly begin to provide some useful output.
Pros:
-LAMP servers
-Good features in basic package including cpanel, sub-domains, shared SSL, FTP and e-mail forwarding, as well as the usual CGI, PHP & mySQL .
-Excellent support (they've even responded at midnight, after I locked myself out of my account)
-Cost effective, good value for money
-Good server bandwidth availability
Cons:
-No SSH with basic package (pain if you want to tweak one file repeatedly or run a shell script).
-fixed IP address to enable use of SSL (for https) is £2/month extra
-they try to sell you an expensive SSL certicifcate, rather than making clear your available options including free ones.
-They're actually a reseller of OneHost, which has it's datacentres out of the EU, which could have dataprotection implications.
