Excellent irons, maybe one of the best all-around sets ever made! Recent price break to $550 for custom set or off the rack makes these a great value. Custom fitting is the best in the business. Long, straight, with good feel at a great price. These sticks will help every golfer as they are one of the most forgiving iron sets ever made!. Forged is not necessarily the best--don't let your ego get in the way. I think these play a little better than Ping G 10's as the soles are not as large and ball flight is a little lower (though nice and high). Outstanding Ping quality and recent $200 price break makes these a no brainer for any golfer 5 handicap or higher. Get fitted for best results. I bought green dot, one inch over in zz65 stiff shafts one degree strong with custom oversize Ping gold grips(I am 6'2"). I am a 10 handicap and will be a 7 or so within 90 days with these weapons. Pings are made to last as they do not chip and lose their appearance over time like most other sticks. If you are in the market, you Must check these out!!
Feel around the greens could be a little better. Instead of the U, S, and L wedges I bought the new high spin Ping Tour W wedges (52 and 58) and love them--so that takes care of that potential objection. Get wedges that give you the performance you need.
The Ping G10 sticks are very fun to play--long, straight, good feel, and good looking. Recent Golf Digest article in Feb 2008 new equipment issue notes that Super Game Improvement clubs helped ALL skill levels with accuracy and distance. These clubs are in the bags of several PGA, Senior PGA, and LPGA tour players--and they are the best in the world. Don't let your ego get in they way. Ping I5 irons are also excellent if you want a little more workability and are a sub-8 or so handicap. Many people have purchased mixed sets. I'm a 10 and love these G 5's after having owned several "players" sets. These put a smile on my face!
