I bought a pair of Karrimor KSB Tour II weathertite boots that i expected to be totally waterproof as they were marketted at over £100 and stated on the boots themselves that they are waterproof. i bought a Nikwax reproofing agent for leather and fabric boots so that i could look after them. After the first day's use my feet were damp, so out came the reproofing agent and i treated them. this made no difference and by the third day my feet were really wet soon after putting them on. I work at RSPCA dog kennels and i do get splashed by a hosepipe and walk over fields that can be wet. After contacting Karrimor by email they recomended that i buy some gators so that water would not get inside through the top either directly or by wicking. I bought some gators but it soon became clear that the boots were still leaking and definately not via the top. My feet were permanently wet and the boots started smelling so i took them back to the shop. I have replaced them with a pair of 'The North Face - Jannu II GTX' retailing around £145. These boots are amazing - dry, comfortable, sturdy, really good quality. I treat them with a Nikwax waterproofing for leather which keeps them in great condition and i really love these boots. Karrimor are useless in comparison.
