I have to say, mine has been floor less for 3 years now. I think this has something to do with me cleaning it after every use, it still looks brand new. My spool has always worked, it starts after the second or third pull on half choke. My only problem was it's back breaking to use, it's just not long enough. I sorted the line snap problem by buying a stronger line.
Mine has just today seized though, even after my careful use, so for that reason i would say do not buy one. Even if you look after it it will end up breaking.
